Vacancy Potential partner role

Suit someone wanting to make a long term career

More information

Sayer Moore LLP is based at 190 Horn Lane, Acton, London W3 6PL. Our website is at www.sayermoore.co.uk

There are three solicitors here, Robert Sayer, Breege Daly and Corinne Ross. Normally there would be 4 but one left at the beginning of the year and we need to replace them.

What we are really looking for is someone who wants to build a long term career. By that we mean join us, show you fit in, become a partner ( strictly speaking a member as we are a LLP) , and as time goes by gradually become one of the key members of the firm , take over when we retire in 5 or 10 years time and continue building the firm up and adapting as the legal market changes.

We are looking long term.

The work we do is about 50% conveyancing and 50 % probate and Wills. We are fortunate in that the conveyancing tends to flow in from local residents, repeat clients and recommendations. We don’t pay referral fees. We don’t have fixed fees. We charge for the time spent. That means difficult cases are charged more than easy ones which is at least some consolation when they turn into nightmares!

The probate comes from our Wills bank which we have been building up for the last 35 years . Again its steady.

Possibly we are a bit complacent as I suspect we could do a lot more to increase the work flow rather than let it come in naturally and a new person might have new ideas. If so, we would encourage that.

We have long toyed with the idea of opening a litigation dept. but again haven’t got round to it but that’s an opportunity waiting to be taken up.

At present we want someone mainly to do conveyancing along side Breege but as in any small firm it helps to be flexible and being able to do wills and probate would be useful if only to cover when Corinne is on holiday or away for any reason.

As a firm we are relaxed and everyone seems to get on with each other. We can afford to be like that simply because we are all very experienced and competent at what we do. As a result we earn a decent living without too much pressure and have done for 35 years. We are planning ahead for when we get older and start to retire in 5 or 10 years and hope to find someone who will want to to take over and be able to run their own firm and be their own boss in a well stablished and successful firm. Maybe someone who no longer wants to commute into London and who lives in West London Or someone who is just ambitious and doesn't want to be always a small cog in a big machine.

If that appeals to you send me your CV and a bit of information about your aims and ambitions and we can take it from there

Regards

Robert Sayer
